Many students have heard a whisper of the BGC sports coach along the halls. Some say he’s an empowering coach, others a kind, humble man. Who is he? Mr. Cesar is a current BGC staff member at Fitz Intermediate. He coaches the soccer team three days a week. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. He also coaches the basketball team and holds the try-outs for the start of the year, which are available for both grade levels.
Many students are not aware of the effort Mr. Cesar puts into our BGC soccer program. Mr. Cesar shows great dedication to our school community. Students find themselves wanting to join soccer due to Mr. Cesar's encouragement. He has always been passionate about teaching. As he explained, “I have for eight years ago? I have a lot of patience.” He has a deep regard for all his students and motivates them to achieve their fullest potential. He has set a great example and precedent of what soccer coaches should be like. His impact on these students has been strong. On the soccer team, 8th grader Sophia Chincabell said, “He’s a coach and a cool person. He understands a lot of people’s perspectives.” Deseray Perez, also on the soccer team, stated, "Students refer to him as 'Coach Him' and it is also listed on his Fitz soccer jersey." “Him” is primarily utilized with people superior in their field. Seeing as Mr. Cesar is a great coach, we cannot deny that he is “Him”!
Many people are unaware of what Mr. Cesar is like outside of school. He is an interesting man, to be frank! He enjoys many hobbies, such as collecting shoes, owning over 100 pairs! Shoes are not the only item he collects—he also enjoys collecting FunkPops, which are vinyl of characters from movies, games, comics, and pop culture. As for his appearence, Mr. Cesar sports one of the longest beards on campus! He is also a left-handed man, making him one of the many educators on campus to be a lefty.
Mr. Cesar is a wonderful staff member at our school. His dedication and care for his students are beyond what we can comprehend. He really seems to love his job! He leaves students with a smile and laughter every practice and game with his encouragement. He may be harsh on them, but it’s out of care, and he knows they can improve. Mr. Cesar is highly respected, and he has earned it!
