Fitz should have lockers in the changing room because they reduce back pain and help students have clean backpacks.
Lockers would be great because students have a lot of items that are making their backpacks heavy. They would allow students to unload their backpacks and carry less things throughout the day. Backpacks are too heavy due to the math and science books students have to carry. Students do not like carrying consumables every day.
Furthermore, lockers would allow students to have their own place to put their clothes, not in just one big closet where everything gets mixed up. Joy Gomez agrees. She said, “I feel unhappy that I have to carry my clothes around.’’ Sometimes, if students are in an after school activity, they are going to have to put their clothes and backpacks somewhere.
Mr. Magana believes that lockers are problematic. According to Mr. Magana, a school without lockers “prevents [students from] hiding stuff, prevents fights, and prevents students from skipping classes.”
However, I think most will agree that having lockers will benefit students. I don't know about you but, I don't want to live a life with five extra pounds of smelly clothes in my backpack all year long. That is why Fitz needs lockers!
