If you haven’t heard, we have a new teacher on campus! She is an English, Spanish teacher, and an ASB advisor and her name is Mrs. Proctor or mostly goes by Dr. Proctor. Her room number is 33 in the West Quad.
She loves her teaching job, and is always happy to help. She’s from South Brazil in a small town called Curitibanos, and she came here in the US in the 2000’s. While her first language is Portuguese- she fell in love with Spanish. She also got her teaching degree from North Carolina, and also got accepted into her dream school in 2012-when she was thirty-three. What she likes about this school is that it’s a “nice community of real human beings.” While she also inspires her students that it’s okay if they can’t do one thing, but instead could do another thing better.
According to her student Alexa Chavez states that, “Mrs. Proctors class is really beautiful-it makes me feel really comfortable. I like how she’s really good at explaining.” This shows how students find her classroom very comforting, with her colorful, and beautiful classroom. While also being good at what she does as a teacher, since she explains things well. Another student Mia Berrelleza states “ I think she is very loud and very energetic and keeps us active, and always has the best intentions.” This shows how Mrs. Proctor is very energetic and has the best intentions for her students, bringing in more energy and comfort so that her students can also have a good education while enjoying her class. Then when she was questioned if she had a favorite student, she explained how she has “many favorites” and how they all have something special and has diverse favorites. Mrs. Proctor really does love her job as a teacher, since she has been teaching for over ten years, and even plans on teaching for longer. While being interviewed of when she plans on retiring she says, “As long as possible.” One of the reasons why she chose to teach English and Spanish was because she loves the language and loves seeing her students learn.
In conclusion, Mrs. Proctor is a bright and amazing teacher who really cares about her students. Her motives are very thought out and I could see just how much she truly likes teaching.
