Fitz students celebrate the holidays in different ways. From going trick-or-treating to having a family dinner, there are many ways students celebrate the holidays.
Fitz students celebrate Halloween by dressing up at school and later either going trick-or-treating with their friends or staying at home with a bowl of candy waiting for trick-or-treaters. Curtis Huyuh, who dressed up as the grim reaper at school, said, “My halloween costume was a grim reaper because I love to scare my friends.” Costumes ranged from a maid to a dinosaur. This is how most Fitz students celebrated Halloween.
Another popular holiday celebrated by Fitz students is Thanksgiving. Most people celebrate Thanksgiving by having a big family dinner. The dinner usually has these essentials: turkey, gravy, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cornbread, pumpkin pie, but not always. Sometimes Fitz students have other essentials, as Kevin Valez put it, "My favorite Thanksgiving dish is pozole because my mom makes it good." Thanksgiving is also about family and appreciating things that you have in life.
After Thanksgiving there's one more popular holiday celebrated by Fitz students–CHRISTMAS! Fitz students celebrate Christmas by going on vacation and spending time with their family. Christmas is a lot of people's favorite holiday because it's a holiday that they can enjoy with their family. Frankie Duenas said, "The best Christmas present I have gotten was when I got my new monitor because I had a PC but nothing to play on." Also, during Christmas you get a two week vacation to spend time with your family. Ms Morison said, "This Christmas I'm going on a Disney cruise with my family to Mexico."
As you can see, holidays are spent by a lot of students at Fitz and are important to them. During Christmas and Thanksgiving, people spend time with their family and on Halloween you spend time with friends and go trick or treating for candy. All holidays are fun and that's why people celebrate them. This is how Fitz students celebrate the holidays.
