Madden Wiley is ready to transform Fitz. Elected in 2020 as the 2021-2022 ASB President, he was encouraged to run by the BGC staff at Fitz last year. “They told me I had the potential to do amazing things and it helped me become brave enough to run for president,” said Wiley. “Leadership helps with future jobs and many more opportunities.”
As ASB president, Wiley hopes to incorporate additional spirit days to make the school a more comfortable place for learning. He wants to have specific themed days, like Comfort Fridays, where students can wear their pajamas, or Wacky Wednesdays, where students can wear bright colors.
Among his other duties, Wiley is also responsible for the morning announcements as well as helping improve our school events by giving a student’s perspective on activities.
Ms. Trujillo believes that Madden is doing an excellent job leading our school. “Madden is the voice of the school,” said Ms. Trujillo. “He keeps the school informed about all activities. He helps out at ASB events.”
Wiley is proud to be at Fitz where he has found great mentors. “Both Mr. Martinez and Mrs. Chin are very supportive and do an excellent job at teaching,” said Wiley. “Their support helped me make it through the [2020-2021] school year and kept me motivated to keep going. They showed me tough love and made sure I succeeded.”
Ultimately, Wiley wants to improve Fitz’s reputation. “I want the future of Fitz to be a positive one,” Wiley stated. “I want Fitz to be viewed as a school for students to enjoy their day and show their PRIDE!”
