This year’s Splash Party was amazing! So many joyous faces, bursts of laughter, and tons of goofing around. Almost half the school attended this year’s event! Even some of our Fitz staff joined in on the fun.
This party brought students together, it gave them the ability to bond with one another. The decorations transformed the west quad into a vibrant celebration space with inflatable pools, sponges, games, and more. The playlist was a hit featuring a mix of current trending songs and classics that everyone enjoyed. Games and activities kept the energy high, with students happily participating in everything from Connect Four to water activities. The food was another highlight, with a scrumptious variety that catered to all tastes. Overall, the Splash Party was a sense of community and joy, leaving everyone buzzing with excitement and happy memories.
Although things went wonderfully, some staff had a couple of things to say about the event. Two of our teachers had a few things to say about this year’s event and what can be improved for next year. Our wonderful science teacher, Mrs. Kao says, “The Splash Party is such a fun way to start off the school year. Students get to just be kids, and that’s what I liked most about this event. One point of improvement, however, is I noticed the grassy area where the water was coming from was very muddy and slippery after a while, and running through there seemed dangerous. I think the hose should be moved periodically around the quad to avoid this issue. Overall, though, I was happy to see the students happy.” Mrs. Kao may have a point. Even though the event was very lively and enjoyable, students' safety should be Fitz’s top priority. If students were to slip and fall it wouldn’t look good for the school.
Another one of Fitz´s astounding teachers, Ms. Chin, lent a helping hand and helped set up and operate the Splash Party with some of the parents of Fitz's students and her ASB students. She said, "The Splash Party did not take long to set up because we had the help of amazing parents who were generous enough to donate a few food items and their time. In addition, the wonderful ASB students were excited to set up and help everyone have a great time.” The school greatly appreciates Ms. Chin since this event would not have been possible without her. Students are also grateful for the parents who took time out of their day to help with the event. One thing she said she’d like to include is, “For next year, we will have more water stations so students can have more fun!” As a matter of fact, Ms. Chin is right because despite the fact that there were a few games and water stations, even more stations could attract more students to join in the fun.
In conclusion, all the students who participated in this event enjoyed it. Many students stated that they can’t wait to attend the party next year. Students gathered in groups, exchanging stories of the night, their faces glowing with joy. From the lively music to the delicious snacks, every moment was a celebration of friendship and fun. As they changed and said their goodbyes, it was noticeable that the memories made there would be cherished for a long time.
