Fitz Welcomes Parents to the 2023 Back-to-School Night

Fitz Intermediate had its Back-to-School Night September 7 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. Back-to-School Night is an annual event that brings parents and students together to tour the school and get to know how their children's classes are going.

Many teachers think that Back-to-School Night is an exciting event because teachers get the chance to meet the parents of their students. Mr. Nguyen agrees, "I've always really liked coming to Back-to-School Night to talk to the parents…. I rarely get to see [students’] parents.” Mr. Nguyen went on to explain that he enjoyed seeing and getting to know everyone that visited. 

Students believe that Back-to-School Night is a pleasant event that people should attend. An anonymous 7th grader said, “My favorite part of BTSN was seeing my teachers and my mom getting to see how I'm doing in class and seeing that I'm doing scholarly stuff and being with my friends.” But students and teachers aren't the only ones who enjoy the event and think it’s important, so do parents! An anonymous parent said, “I feel like it’s important to be there and to see what the expectations are so that I can support my kid as their parent.” 

Students think that it's mandatory for schools to have a Back-to-School Night because it’s important for the parents to have brief introductions of their students’ classes to see how they are learning. An anonymous student said, “I think it’s important because parents need to understand how your child is learning and their environment here at Fitz.” This shows how important Back-to-School Night is for parents, students, and teachers. Back-to-School Night is a great way to get all the parents together and to meet all their teachers. 

Fitz 2023 annual Back-to-School Night was a successful event where all parents got a chance to see the students' classrooms and their environment here at Fitz. Fitz staff were able to show their appreciation towards the parents for attending this special event.
