On December 7th, the much anticipated Avengers: Endgame trailer dropped to everyone's excitement. After the events of the first film, everyone is looking forward to how the remaining Avengers with avenge Thanos wiping out half of all life and some of our favorite heroes. Since the first Avengers movie, we have been waiting for Thanos to gather all of the Infinity Stones so that he could wipe out half of the universe. How could we forget our favorite Avenger, Spiderman, melting into dust as he begged Tony Stark to save him? Tom Hiddleston's Loki? Gamora? It almost brings me to tears.
Many are theorizing that Captain Marvel will have an important role to play in Endgame because of the credits scene in Infinity War and because of her upcoming feature film. Also, let's not forget Ant Man's comedic arrival at the end of the trailer.
The internet is ablaze with fan theories and so here are some of ours.
According to what we've seen from the Marvel cinematic universe, they don't really stick to the source material. They deviate to make it interesting. Adam Warlock, who was teased at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will play a pivotal role. I don't think he's going to be the one who ends up defeating Thanos like in the comics.
The trailer definitely raised many questions. Questions like: Why is Ironman in space? And most importantly: What will the avengers do next? The trailer did do a good job of reeling people in, but they did miss one detail. Maybe it was their intention to not include Captain Marvel, however the trailer would have been much more interesting.
Black Panther.
Captain Marvel is definitely going to be important and play a role.
Captain Marvel and the original Avengers didn't disintegrate in the Decimation and they will work together to fight Thanos.
All the heroes who disintegrated are going to come back because they all have movies slated to come out after Endgame.
I think the Avengers are going to use the Time stone, after they take it from Thanos, to go back in time and resurrect the Avengers who were disintegrated.
The heroes who disintegrated are travelling in an alternate universe and will eventually come back.
Where do Hawkeye and Ant-man come in?
Hawkeye's back!
There's a theory that Hawkeye wasn't in Infinity War because he was in Japan investigating an alien infiltration on Earth.
I think that Tony Stark is going to die.
(All in agreement) Yeah. Totally. his time has come.
I personally think the creators of Avengers did a great job making this trailer for their viewers. I like how the trailer did not show many parts of the movie and that just leaves the fans to guess what’s going to happen next. For example, the trailer showed only Thanos’ hand because they didn’t want to show the main villain of this franchise. I like how they do that because most movies that come out now show so many parts of the movie, and it gives away main scenes. I am excited to see this movie and I believe it will be great.

In recent years the tension between progressive and traditional beliefs has led to vast social conflict in America. This hasn’t been the first time America has seen such a radical split between parties of different opinions and ideas. I can recall another time in America’s past where the citizens rioted and protested as loudly and frequently as they have in this decade.
In 1955 when the Vietnam War started, the White House was definitely not prepared for the amount of citizens in opposition of the Vietnam war. Although a majority of citizens were in opposition of fighting in the Vietnam war, there were still many citizens in favor. This caused social tension and even a break from the sense of unity in America. This social unrest and tension led to multiple protests and riots that quickly got out of hand and is remembered as one of the most vicious political and social uproars in American history.
For the duration of the Vietnam War the popular rock band, Buffalo Springfield, released their song “For What It’s Worth” which became synonymous with the feeling of paranoia among the public. It became an anthem among protestors of the Vietnam War, serving as a catalyst for both their voice and concern. The song itself is a call for protest and to stop and think about the situation during Vietnam; “I think it's time we stop, children, what's that sound? Everybody look what's going down.” A relic from the past, reminding us of the struggle of the battlefield, and the people back home.
43 years later, long after the Vietnam War has ended, the citizens of America are split once again and in opposition of each other. This time it isn’t because of war, but over the disagreement of the course of actions that will determine America’s future. This disagreement has led to widespread panic, paranoia, fear, increased aggression, and irritability among the masses. Within this decade alone we have witnessed an incredible increase in protests turned violent, along with frequent riots. This video documents the most violent and media-covered riots of the protests and draws comparisons and contrasts between the protests of now and those of Vietnam. The song “For What It’s Worth” and it’s music video have also been chosen to emphasize the feeling of paranoia and panic between both eras.
