Most people know Mr. Stratton as the principal here at Covina High School, but there is so much more to him than that. At home, Mr. Stratton is married to his high school sweetheart who he's been together with for thirteen years. Together, they have three and five year old boys, and an eight year old golden retriever.
Before he was a principal, Stratton played both soccer and golf at the University of Redlands and then coached both sports. In addition, Mr. Stratton taught Social Science. His favorite subject to teach was AP World History. He often refers to it at “his baby.” because of how meaningful it is to him.
Although he enjoyed teaching, he felt it was time for a new challenge. This led him to get his administrative credential from Cal Poly Pomona. Looking to broaden his horizons, Mr. Stratton applied for an administration job here at Covina and has been here for three years serving as both Assistant Principal and, now, Principal.

Regarding the students here, he simply asks that we try our best. Whether it's 70%, or 100%, all he will ever ask for is that you give it your all, each and every day! Overall, he wants you to enjoy what you're doing, because in the end, if you're not, no matter how hard you try, it's not going to work. This is why he tries so hard to make Covina a fun and engaging school.
We are in this together and he truly believes that no one on campus is more important than anyone else. Covina is a great place to be, and with Stratton’s leadership it shall surely continue to grow and prosper.
