Mr. Aleman is one of our new administrators. Although he is a familiar face in the district, he is a new one here at Covina. You may recognize him as that tall guy walking around with the sunglasses. At first glance, Mr. Aleman seems somewhat intimidating, but within a few minutes of talking with him you realize that there is nothing to be nervous about.

Aleman was a football coach for about twenty years and is now not only into DIY projects, but is super dedicated to this school and all the students in it.

Mr. Aleman has been an educator for twenty-two years. Right out of high school he started working as a one on one instructional aid for special needs children and eventually became a special education teacher for math and english where he taught for nine years after attending Cal Poly Pomona.

While becoming an administrator was never something he saw himself doing, Mr. Aleman saw the need for changes in the way schools were being run and knew that he could make those changes. Aleman got his first administration job working as a Dean of Students at Northview High School. After two years working there, the position got cut and he found himself at a crossroads. His passion was and always will be teaching, and while he could have gone back to it he knew that he needed to be an administrator.

Fortunately, a position opened up here at Covina and he didn’t hesitate to take it. Aleman sees the greatness within Covina High School but also strives to make us better. The accountability of the students here is the point he wants to emphasize most. The students here are number his number one priority and he encourages students to be open with him. Overall, he wants us to enjoy our time here and hopes that he can make a difference throughout his administrative career.
