"He's All That" Review

The movie He's All That is a fun and entertaining teen romance movie. It is a continuation of the original film “She’s All That” that came out in 1999. It is similar to the original movie She's All That but instead of the girl being the unpopular one, it switches to the guy being the popular one.

The two main actors are the famous Tik Toker Addison Rae and Tanner Buchanan that starred in the famous Cobra Kai series. Tanner Buchanan plays Cameron Kweller, an antisocial person that enjoys photography. Addison Rae plays Padgett Sawyer, a famous high schooler that agrees on a bet to turn the antisocial Cameron Kweller into the prom king.

A fun fact about Addison is that she didn’t even know anything about the original movie She's All That. Her mom was a huge fan of the movie throughout her childhood and that is how Addison became familiar with it. This is Addison Rae’s first movie she’s acted in so it is interesting to see her act without much experience. Many people probably think it’s unfair to give a Tik Tok star a chance to act in a movie but I think it’s a good opportunity for her to see if it’s something she is good at.

Acting is also something that Addison Rae has wanted to try out for a long time and it's good that she took advantage of this opportunity. After watching this movie, I would say that her acting is not the best. It looks a little forced but she is just a beginner therefore if she continues to be in more movies, she will only get better. She showed off her great dance moves and even sang in a few parts. Addison Rae has a lot of potential in acting especially with all of her little talents on the side. She may even be known as a famous actress instead of a famous Tik Tok!

Compared to the original movie She’s All That, this movie doesn’t really give it any competition. I liked how they switched it up a little bit but there were a few parts to the movie that was cheesy. Like I said earlier, Addison Rae’s acting looked a little forced and you could tell that she is a beginner actor. Padgett’s (Addison Rae) “mom” also looked about the same age as her. They seemed to be more like friends instead of mother and daughter.

This movie wasn’t bad but it was unorganized, especially the acting. Other than that, I would say the fun twists and turns of Padgett Sawyer’s actions make this movie entertaining and funny at the same time. There was never a boring part to the movie.

It always had something going on to make you entertained or laugh. In my opinion, I would say that the best part of the movie was the transformation of Cameron Kweller. Padgett was able to turn him from an antisocial boy with no sense of style, to a good looking potential prom king. I would even say the transformation in this movie was better than the one in She’s All That. Padget really did change up his looks for the better. It’s easy to change the looks on a girl by doing her hair and makeup, but on boys, it’s harder because all you can really do is change up their hair for a new look.

Something interesting about Cameron’s pre-makeover was that Tanner Buchanan’s choice of clothing came from his memory as a teenager. Tanner said he felt like he looked and acted a lot like Cameron at the age of sixteen. He even had long hair as a teen just like how he had it in the movie.

Overall, if you enjoy comedy/romance movies, I would definitely recommend this movie to you. Although this movie can be a little cheesy, it is very funny and entertaining especially when watching Addison Rae’s acting along with the rest of the actors in the movie.
