2016, the year Apple really caught the eyes of music lovers everywhere, revealed their brand new products, AirPods. The “perfect” alternative, wireless, earbuds. Social media mocked, but also praised this product. As usual, this announcement triggered a mass purchase of the new merchandise.

This year, Apple reinvented the AirPods with the AirPod Pro. We are aware that Apple is known for the consistency of their new products, and personally I fall behind their products consistently. But this one I needed to have, despite the price and because of the look, and the question is: was it worth it?

Personally, I turned down purchasing the first AirPods due to the design. I enjoyed my wired, silicone tipped earbuds that fit securely in my ear. The first AirPods just could not offer me this comfort. The new AirPod Pros come with the perfect design, offering three different sizes regarding the silicone tip, fitting just about anyone. Since purchasing, they've only slipped out only once.

In regards to sound, if I compare the sound to the average earbuds I’ve owned before, I can say the Pro has its ups and downs. The option of Noise Cancellation is a plus, the sound comes out very rich and a great quality. If put on Transparency (which is supposed to allow you to still hear and interact with the outside world with the earbuds in), the quality is of any average, twenty dollar pair of wired earbuds.

The noise cancellation was what truly won me over and did not make me regret my purchase at all. Apple adding this option made the difference in audio quality huge. Although noise cancellation does not isolate all surrounding sound, it definitely does justice and creates more bass for whatever song you are listening to.

Apple won me over this year, and suckered me into emptying my wallet, but it was worth it. These wireless earbuds are convenient and easy, they fit, and are suitable for any event/surrounding. This Apple upgrade is finally worth the money. Despite its imperfect noise cancelling and slowly but surely taking the life of my phone battery, these are the best earbuds I’ve had yet.
