Meet the newest teacher on campus, Mr. Saleh.

Mr. Saleh has lived in Covina for most of his life. He went to Mesa Elementary School, Sierra Vista Middle School, and graduated from South Hills. From there he attended Cal State Fullerton and received his undergraduate degree in civil engineering. After Cal State Fullerton, Mr. Saleh went on to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and earned his Masters Degree in _____________. After college he lived in Oregon for a little while and then decided to make the switch to teaching. When he is not playing soccer he likes to go hike, camp, and take his dog to the park. Yellowstone is his favorite place to go camping. When not outdoors, Mr. Saleh likes to spend his time with family and friends.

Last year, Mr. Saleh taught some classes at Covina as part of his teaching credentials. For his first year of "official" teaching at Covina High School, Mr. Saleh is teaching Math I and Math II. When asked why he wanted to become a teacher, he responded that, “ the ability to have an impact in someone's life” inspired him.

Soccer is a big part of Mr. Saleh’s life. This will be his second year as head coach of the boys varsity team. Since he was a kid, Mr. Saleh has played soccer. He played at South Hills as a defender in high school, and had Mr. Stratton, our principal as his coach. Their team went to CIF three times together at South Hills.

Saleh's favorite teams are Manchester United from Manchester, England, and one of the newest team to to join Major League Soccer (MLS) LAFC. Mr. Saleh also enjoys watching the United States Women's National Team. As his current favorite player is Julie Ertz, who was apart of the recent Women World Cup win in France. His favorite player growing up however, was a Brazilian player named Ronaldo (R9). Ronaldo played for popular teams like FC Barcelona, Real Madrid, Inter Milan, and many more. Mr. Saleh will always enjoy watching soccer as it is such a “beautiful game.”

Mr. Saleh's ultimate desire is that students are successful in every facet of school whether it is in math class or on the soccer field.

Welcome to Covina High School Mr. Saleh!
