Mushoku Tensei Review

Good anime is becoming extremely rare. There are many duds and many failures that either have a bad plot and good animation, a good plot and bad animation, or bad of both things. However, Mushoku Tensei exceeded my expectations by having both a good plot and animation and that is why currently this is one of the best anime of this season.

At first, my impression of this anime was horrible because of its inappropriate beginning. However, as the plot progressed, I saw the amazing potential in this anime's world building and our protagonist's character development. This anime starts off with the protagonist living in Japan as a NEET (not in education, employment, or training) and after getting evicted from his parent's house after their unfortunate death. He wanders the streets and sees a person almost get hit by a car. The unnamed NEET ends up wanting to save this person to make their last action meaningful in their so-called "meaningless life." The protagonist ends up saving this person while dying. He ends up reincarnated into a fantasy world of swords and magic as a toddler to learn magic. His parents realize his affinity for learning magic and hire a teacher for him to teach him magic while his father teaches him how to use the sword. In this new world, Rudeus swears to live his best life and fulfill all his ambitions, unlike the last life he has lived, so this is where his adventure begins.

The animation studio for this anime is Studio Bind, which is an animation studio that was created fairly recently, which was in 2018. Studio Bind has honestly impressed me with the art style they have incorporated into the anime. They do an excellent job breathing life into the anime and giving it the funding that it needed. The anime does not deviate from the original story and will continue to be a great anime if Studio Bind follows the path that they have paved themselves.
