SMITE

Smite is an excellent game. It still has an active community and over 50 playable gods to choose from. Smite is a MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena), and most games that are in this genre require a lot of teamwork. So I would recommend you play with friends if you have no one to play with. Here's a breakdown of the game that fellow MOBA fans and gamers will understand if you are interested.

There are five classes to choose from and each one has their own play style. The playable classes are: mage, warrior, assassin, guardian, and hunter. Every god also has their own abilities and play style:

Hunters: Hachiman Lord of the Eight banners. His abilities complement a hit-and-run play style and crit (critical hit) build.

Assassins: Fenrir the Unchained. His abilities encourage you to harass the enemy team and build physical power.

Mages: Tiamat, Goddess of the Salt Sea, her abilities do big chunks of damage and her passive heals her any time something dies so a lifesteal build would go well with her kit/skill set.

Warrior: Horus is a support warrior which means he can do damage and be take a lot of damage. His abilities help allies escape and hold enemies where they are so a health/damage build is helpful.

Guardian: Cthulhu is a bruiser guardian he can take damage and dish it back in large amounts. His abilities are good for stalling the enemy and doing mass amounts of damage at the same time. His passive helps his ultimate ability do more damage a good build for him is health and defence or defense and damage.

If you noticed how I named gods from different belief systems, that’s because the game has gods from almost all pantheons. From Greek mythology all the way to the mythos of author, H.P. Lovecraft.

There are two types of damage in the game. There is magical and physical. Depending on the god you choose to play that will be either of the two and never both. Physical damage items and magical items will sometimes have passives to them.

The game gets a lot better when you know what you're doing and know how everything works. Not only that but since it’s a team oriented game, playing with friends makes the experience so much better. Basically, this is a game for fans of the different mythologies of the world and of MOBA's.

So if you have nothing else to do and have some time to kill during quarantine you can always go check out Smite. Also, Smite is available to compete in on the eSports team at Covina, so consider that as well when you download and play.
