The ascribed owner is identical to that of # 595.
Menkheper, depicted kneeling and facing right, is shown praising Re as he rises. Another depiction of Menkheper, kneeling and facing left, is shown praising Re as he sets. According to Davies, it is likely that # 595 was located on the east side of Menkheper's tomb, while # 596 was located on the west (01-282 in Davies's notebook). Although the tomb to which the two cones were assigned is unknown, it is possible that the tomb entrance faced south. However, I disagree with Eigner's suggestion that Menkheper's cone was intended for TT 258 (Eigner 1984: 111), as it faces northward.
