Transliteration: jr.n nb=j m nxw n jtj Hr-ms
Translation: Born of my lord in lament of father (?), Hormose.
Date: R. VII - R. IX (Vivó 2022: 390).
Length: --
Colours: Wholly painted red on the white surface (Bruyère 1927: 18).
Findspots:
Each one from the dumped soil near TT 8 and TT 216 (Bruyère 1927: 17-18).
One from TT 268 and unknown examples from the dumped soil at Deir el-Medina (Bruyère 1934: 53 and 89).
Remarks:
Bruyère translated the first two lines as 'fait pour mon maitre en signe de deuil de son père', etc., and on the basis of this discussion insisted that the cones were some kind of offerings (Bruyère 1927: 18-19). Note that Bruyère later suggested that 'nb=j m nxw' was a personal name, although he himself admits that there are no inhabitants of Deir el-Medina whose name was Nebiemnekhu (Bruyère 1929: 38). Soliman also considers 'nb=j m nxw' as a personal name (Soliman 2018 [BIFAO 118]: 473 n. 58).
