Remarks:
Reeves and Ryan reported that Henry Salt had claimed in his MSS material preserved in the British Museum that this cone was in situ, lined over the door of a tomb. Without showing any evidence to support their ideas, Reeves and Ryan insist that the cone found by Salt is # 54 and the tomb referred to is A.9 (Reeves and Ryan 1987 [VA (3 (1))]). Vandenbeusch and Taylor also posit that the 'stamped seals' in the MSS text may indicate cone # 54 (EA 9671-EA 9696), though it should be noted that cones EA 9692-EA 9696 are not # 54, but # 153 (Vandenbeusch and Taylor 2024 [BMSAES 27]: 100, 127).
A statue of what is almost certainly our Neferhebef with his parents, Itju (the owner of # 36) and Henutweret is housed in the British Museum (BM: 31. Edwards 1939 [BMHT 8]: 6-7, Pl. VII). Also, a statue (Inv. no. 196-B-00) housed in the Kröller-Müller Museum in Otterlo, the Netherlands, may be of the same official as the owner of the statue and Neferhebef's father Itju has the same title, Hrj mrt (cf. Heerma van Voss 1978).
