Translation: Revered one before Osiris, hereditary noble, mayor, seal-bearer of the king of Lower Egypt, sole companion, attendant of the lord of the Two Lands, first prophet of Amun Amunemhat.
Date: A. II (Vivó 2022: 382).
Length: Size of EA 35627: 21 x 20 x 5.5cm (BM: EA 35627) or 8 x 7.5 x 2.5in.? (01-087 in Davies's notebook).
Colours: Red face and 5.4 digits of the stem (01-087 in Davies's notebook).
Findspots:
Unknown examples from TT 55 (01-088 in Davies's notebook and 04-091 in Macadam's Green file).
Unknown examples from the tomb of Heqanefer which is said to be located to the north of TT 99 (01-088 in Davies's notebook and 04-091 in Macadam's Green file).
Several examples which closely resemble this cone were from the shaft of TT 82 (Davies and Gardiner 1915: 2).
Two of # 42, # 43, and/or # 44 were from TT 97 (Mond and Emery 1929 [AAA 16]: 53).
Three from TT 99 (Strudwick and Strudwick 2016: 53).
One from TT 29 (Tefnin & Bavay 2008 [ASAE 82]: 368).
Remarks:
There are two bricks in the 'Mond's magazine (= inner hall of TT 96. See Mond 1904 [ASAE 5]: 100)' (01-087 in Davies's notebook and 04-092 in Macadam's Green file). Also, Davies and Macadam state that # BM 35627 preserved in the British Museum is a brick with three seal impressions on each of two sides (01-087 in Davies's notebook and 04-092 in Macadam's Green file), but the museum's database says it is not this # 43 but # 42 (cf. # 35627 in the database).
The dimensions, design, findspots, text content and handwriting of # 42 and # 43 suggest that the maker of the two is the same and that they were created at the same time. The rationale behind the use of two distinct cones is evident; it is to acknowledge both of Amunemhat's two titles, jmj-rA Hmw-nTr nw Smaw mHw and jrj-rdwj n nb tAwj.
