Remarks:
Four examples were purchased at Armant (Drower and Myers 1940: Texts p. 101, Plates Pl. 107 no. 8).
The ascribed owner is identical to those of # 193, # 361, and # 633/B.06, as the design of the inscription is similar, and the name and the title of the owners match each other. Vivó, however, believes that the owner of # 361 is different from the other cones as it has never been discovered in the tomb -286- area, and the king's name is not Thutmose II but Thutmose I. Additionaly, he considers # 633/B.06 to be the same as # 193 (Personal communication between Kento Zenihiro and him. 10 Nov. 2012).
Gauthier, who discovered 34 examples of cone # 193 and 52 examples of cone # 232, deliberately differentiated between 'Aabau' and 'Nedjem'. This, however, makes it difficult to infer his potential translation error regarding these two names, which are similar in appearance.
Scholars are divided on how to read these two names (cf. Gabolde 1995 [SAGA 12]: 163).
Drower and Myers acquired both # 193 and # 232 (Drower and Myers 1940: Texts p. 101, Plates Pl. CVII). This suggests the possibility that a collector of antiquities had obtained a variety of different cones from the vicinity of -286- site before selling them later in Armant.
The discovery of another cone of Nedjem (# 35) near -286- indicates a matter that requires further investigation in the future.
Davies noted that there is a possibility that both # 193 and # 232 are forgeries (01-110 in Davies's notebook).
Macadam suggested reading the name of the king as aA-xpr-kA-ra (Thutmose I) instead of aA-xpr-n-ra (Thutmose II. 04-034 in Macadam's Green file, 05-096 in his DALEX file 1, and 06-078 & 109 in his DALEX file 2. See also # 193).
