Findspots:
Some from the tomb to the right of TT 44 (Collins 1976 [JEA 62]: 35). This was published by Collins who organised the data of Mond's excavation in 1905–1906. Mond first described the tomb to be the right of 'Amunemopet' but later chaged this to 'Amunemheb'. In any case, the one whose name is 'Amunemopet' or 'Amunemheb' in his excavation area during that season (cf. ibid.: 19) can only be Amunemheb of TT 44.
One from TT 29 (Tefnin & Bavay 2008 [ASAE 82]: 368).
Three (including one brick) from TT 23 (Ivanov 2021: 43, 46).
Remarks:
TT 23 belonged to a certain Tjay, so our Tjay's cone may have been related to the tomb.
Some of the examples have a reflexed trumpet shaped rim (BM: EA 62651; ROM: 993X2.71).
This seal has been stamped twice horizontally side by side on the face of the cone (cf. ROM: 993X2.69). See # 335 and # 338 for similar examples. Not all examples, however, have a double impression. Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has inv. nos. 15.2.66 and 30.6.32, both of which have only one seal impression.
Some cones have a sufficiently wide face to have two seal impressions (e. g. Louvre: E 14378 (143334 MNW), E 14380 (CF 102), and N 707 4 (Drovetti nº186, CF 93)), while others have a circular face with only one seal impression (e. g. Louvre: E 19990 (MG 2491, CF 134) and MET: 30.6.32). It is possible that the maker altered his or her initial design to include two impressions during the production of this cone.
