Findspots:
Combined with # 256, 95 from Dra Abul Naga (Gauthier 1908 [BIFAO 6]: 131–132).
Unknown examples of this and/or # 256 from near TT 18 (01-168 in Davies's notebook).
Remarks:
Davies notes the presence of a brick fragment of this cone or # 256 (01-168 in Davies's notebook).
The design, findspots, textual content and inscription style of # 255 and # 256 suggest that the maker of the two is the same and that they were created at the same time. The rationale behind the necessity for two cones, despite the similarities in their contents, remain unclear and require further investigation.
