The machine spirit of the ship has gone a bit funny, & has developed a crush on the captain. The command crew have found that if they pretend there is a rival lover on enemy ships, their own ship reacts more quickly and aggressively. Though there have been a few unfortunate incidents with the captain's paramours on the ship, he has learn to just keep that sort of thing planet side. The crew has also become very careful about making any remarks about the captain, good or ill, lest the ship take it the wrong way.

The ship's quartermaster, an 8th level explorator, is charismatic, a master swordsman with an allergy to xenoplastics.
