Altronus the Solarian, Diamondback the Vesk Flips the Op. Rost the Techno + Hound; Calinthia the NPC Op. Solstarnia the Academic NPC

Continuing the search for missing

Starfinder agents on the mystic wyrd-world.

Aren the Mystic went up into the hills to commune with a (holy?) place where he could learn new mystic insights. Others were seeking the missing robotic medic, who happens to be formian-shaped. The PC party goes west on the agricultural continent, tracking down the missing person, who was studying the soil and farming out in the countryside. The Carsians are basically moth-like people. just before they reached a distant village, some Carsian giant spiders (orange furred) attempted to eat some of the party. Later as they approached the village, things seemed creepy, like theses rustic Carsians living out in the boonies were quite superstitious.

Also, it had not been revealed in the travel literature that underneath the oceans an amphiban tribe lived in the cool waters. Pix: the Carisan moth people, {the black areas are hands, not a bikini}

and at right, the PCs battle giant alien spiders.

30 JAN 19 - Legendary Carsis - Heart of Luck GROUP REP: 14

Altronus the Solarian, Calinthia the NPC Op. Diamondback the Vesk Rost the Techno + Hound; Aren the Mystic Flips the Op.

at right, PCs on hover bikes trekking

Coming out of the Drift into Vogon Space, at the edge of the Carsis system, the Infinite Smoke is immediately hailed by Vogon Assessor ships (huge cubes not unlike the Borg) who scan the ship in intimate detail. Then they charge the players 1% of their current value. (mark credits off character sheet) Carsis lies in the protectorate, where the ancient bureaucracy has run things since pre-Gap.

The PCs sell fertilizer, the value of which is not the bulk, but the new strains of bacteria needed by the farmlands here. They made quite a buck, because of the oddities about local agriculture. Then the PCs set out for their real mission, to locate missing Starfinder agents, none of the 5 of which have reported back in over 2 weeks. They land at the spaceport Akeelan of Carsis. The five missing SFS had foolishly split up over the 5 continents.

Then, they visit Milone the most mystical continent first, and meet an old Vesk, the local moth-people, kill an assassin who works for the Herkor thieves guild, and they meet a mystic hermit, who helps them find the first agent, who turns out to be dead in the wilderness. It had not been revealed in the travel literature that underneath the moth-people an arachnoid tribe lived in the darkness.

23 JAN 19 - SHORE LEAVE at the CATHOUSE GROUP REP: 13

Altronus the Solarian, Calinthia the NPC Op. Rost the Techno + Hound; Aren the Mystic Flips the Op.

The Flight to the world of Carsis (in Vogon Territory) runs right through the Kzinti/Catgirl Empire, so the logical place for a layover is Pleasure Planet. (see map) The Kzin are largely lawful and honorable, so they allow one place to be the meeting place for outworlders, aliens, unknown traders, and fudgies. So on this planet, the usual punishments for drunkenness, whoring, gambling, opium, etc are only laxly enforced. Stupid sailors come from all over to enjoy this place. "What Happens on Pleasure Planet Gets Deleted from Crew-Tube" is one of their sales pitches.

So the PCs just visited a few places, did not get into law trouble. Flips met one of his cousins there, who is more like indentured, but still some say a slave there. In this empire it is quite legal and common. Calinthia got chased by an Asteray, which frightened her (rare for one so jaded);

A sleazy trader sought info from the group about ghosts and undead hunting.

The Ship was left in a parking orbit during shore leave, but their shuttle got sabotaged (maybe by Greys) with computer glitching imps. The crew was able to exorcise the imps before returning to Infinite Smoke.

No one lost too much money on gambling or drinking.

21 NOV 18 - LAST EXIT FROM ABSALOM GROUP REP: 12

Altronus the Solarian, Calinthia the NPC Op. Rost the Techno + Hound; Flips the Op.

While buying the Fertilizer to sell at Carsis, the group is accosted by a girl gang, who sought revenge for the 3 ladies that were run off from last weeks gang fight. Seems every encounter in the Spike goes south.

Then the group went to the RAMPANT RHINO CASINO for drinks and gambling, spending the credits they had just gotten from the girl gang's cred-sticks.

Then launch in the AM for cat-space.

7 NOV 18 - Intrigue within the Court and Nobility on Vishaka 7 GROUP REP: 10

Aren the Mystic, Theta the Op , Sugar-Water the Op, Altronus the Solarian, + Solstarni the NPC mystic, Calinthia the NPC Op. Flips the Op, Diamondback the Soldier ; Alec the Soldier; Kylar the Op, Halloween was a skip week

Having dealt as good as possible with the "evil queen" the PCs prep to leave for P.W. and head home to square up the details of this deal, and maybe line up the next one. They sought to wrap up all loose ends before leaving Vishaka, the last of which was Katholi, the SFS tech who acted as doctor for the nobleman requesting med. supplies. She was a day overdue, and finally texted the group, saying please come get me. She was no longer where she was, at Ghastcanthi, but was now in the same arcology as the PCs, Wilholm!

She was at a high level , and being held hostage by a noble house. Since previous encounters with noblemen had been troublesome, the crew went down to the next tavern, the Growling Griffon, and hired 4 more skilled beings who were willing to risk life and limb for even more credits.

They went up to level J (early letters = more noble) and found her, and blasted down the house Tarak guards.

Then they had to escape the cops, other noble houses, and possible wrath of queen. At least they committed no capital crime, which on Vishaka would have been the assault of a nobleman proper.

Turns out that the queen has medical issues, which affect her sanity, which affect her solarian abilities, which throws shade on her nobility. So the mayor of Chastcanthi sought to help her medically, even against her will, which was from a certain point of view, a good deed. Hopefully the fallout of this will not harm the PCs deals or reputation. They cruised back to Absalom, and will seek to aid the SFS again at Carsi.

24 OCT 18 - Trailblazing through the Hot Swamp of Feudality and Nobility on Vishaka 7

Flips the Op, Altronus the Solarian, Theta the Op, Aren the Mystic, Solstarni the NPC mystic, Calinthia the NPC Op.

PC party leaves the boondocks of Ghazcanti and heads into the big city of Wilholm, the "capitol" region. They labor long to wrangle an appointment with the "evil queen" Convivia, who is the head of the most noble and well-connected family, who has the rights to manage and profit from the giant arcology's 5 million people.

They garner time with her adjutant, and win her over and are promised a slot. They spend the evening getting wasted, and in a bar fight at ROCKET RABBITS tavern. The next morning they go shopping, to wear proper clothing to impress the nobles they will meet in the afternoon. Then some thugs from House Baijo, a rival of Convivia's House Eastwind, accost the PC party rudely and try to strongarm them into modifying whatever it is they want, (upper pic at left) but the PCs win the fight, and the Baijo run off.

Later the queen still sees them, and they make it on time and commit no real gaffes. The negotiations go reasonably well, as Flips will pull strings with an appropriate free-trader he knows to deal with Vishaka's nobles and their odd culture appropriately. But it comes out that House Baijo wanted to run interference somehow, and that their may be medical intrigue somewhere in the noble district. Also apparently Convivia is some sort of Solarian Mystic hybrid caster. (upper pic at right, Throne Room) . . ..

Calinthia, guarding the ship while parked outside the arcology, had to move the damn thing twice, and had been chain-smoking on the bridge again.

17 OCT 18 - Trailblazing, Off to Vishaka 7

Flips the Op, Altronus the Solarian, Calinthia the Op.

The Infinite Smoke preps for drifting off to Vishaka 7. They will perform a favor for Radaszam the Vesk of the Starfinder Society, and possibly open a trade deal with this place. So the team meets female human mechanic Lorissa, also of the SFS, who will handle the precious cargo, medical supplies of various potencies and levels. The PCs all buy various commodities, and cram the remaining cargo spaces with ice, water, air-filters, fresh foods, coolants, and other items in rarity on high-temp toxic worlds like Vishaka 7.

Also seeds and grow kits were bought to run through the ship hydroponics, and then totally fresh items could be traded there, possibly for favors or prestige, if not cash. Once the ship was prepped they zoomed off to Vishaka, sailing down the Lalande Arm of the Galaxy, staying in safe DANG territory. Nothing bad happened along the way.

They passed by Atalo the Green Hell, Preluria the Gas Giant, and Sinhan Parva, the Vesk Conquest.

As they pulled into the Vishaka system, they kept getting pestered by a vagabond trader who wanted them to sniff his wares. They also had to negotiate through customs, since local culture views their bone-ship as probably evil. Even after they landed, Customs Enforcement boarded their ship and scanned everything. (scene pictured at right), but that went off without a hitch.

Later they met the Mayor Tresko of the Ghastcanthi Base, who was very happy with the medical items, but surprised they didn't bring a doctor for them. Lorissa switched jobs immediately to bluff and satisfy the natives.

They also sold some hydroponic vegetables to a renowned local chef, and they learned a lot about the customs and culture here, since the planet treats solarians like royalty. And they prefer the photon part of Solarianism. Rumor has it the "Queen Eastwind" has gone evil.

Vishaka Security dudes board and scan the PC ship, while Flips and Altronus have to watch with dread.
Infinite Smoke parked at top left, with a cargo pod under inspection.

10 OCT 18 - Absalom Wildside & Nightlife

Flips the Op, Theta the Op, Altronus the Solarian, Calinthia the Op.

Most of them had never been to Absalom, and so spent much time shopping, touring and dining. But the next morning, when the reminders of maintenance, and desire for upgrades came back, the PC party sought out a source for jobs. Ones both for cash remuneration, but also as a way to expand the prestige of the Galaxy Trailblazers group. Since Solstarni and Altronus had paid dues for Starfinder membership, they heard about the "honor" race that Radaszam the Vesk wanted Laboni the Mechanic to win, down in the Scrapyard.

On the way to the junk yard area of the Spike, they were accosted by a heavy Eoxian enforcer, named Vashalygo, who demanded a "deal" for the antique Queen card from adventure 1. (picture above) The group accepted his unfair terms.

Before the race, the players did their best to augment the racer, and Calinthia tried to sabotage Ratrod's hovercycle. It took forever but Laboni won contest, issued her sorry apology, and earned some point for the SFS. Scavenging around the junkyard, the players were leaving with junk, within the limits of the Union rules for buying scraps. So the group found some helmets, a gauss pistol, a nice comm set, and then CLANK, the solarian's crowbar encountered the hood of a race-fighter in sad condition buried in the piles. So they insisted they were legally allowed to have it, because they had earned entry and each person could claim one salvaged thing. Well the union saw differently, not giving away a starship for a simple price of admission. After much arguing, the Union said "fine. you have 1 hour; if you can get it working, great; otherwise piss off".

Well the old racer was pretty much unfixable, needing shipyard attention. But the players hatched a plan. Then Theta the Ghost-Op started pitching the lie that it would soon be working fine.; Flips the Ysoki Op started stringing lights, hot-wiring panels, jury-rigging vents, and making little smoke emitters so the rig would appear to be working; And Altronus the Solarian sat down, meditating and gathering his energy for maximum attunement. Then after about 45 minutes of "repairs", he lifted the fighter using much resolve and the Gravity Hold, thus the group crafted an illusion of the racer slowly levitating, and hovering right out of the junk yard. This did not please the scavengers union, but they failed to see through the lie.

Then the group went down to the Obsidian Borealis Casino ; to have some drinks and win some cash-money. However there was a total jerk at their table name Kethend the Dragonborn who pretty much ruined the evening and kept anyone from raking in big pots. Fortunately the PCs made it back to the Infinite Smoke to sleep off the booze and death-sticks. Soon they will launch out and try to make a deal at Vishakha VII, a planet out in the Vast region; in Lalande quadrant, between the Catgirl and Celestial sector.

Now this is Junk-Racing !

04 OCT 18 - Castrovel - Exit Strategy

Flips the Op, Theta the Op, Aren the Mystic, Shira the Soldier, Altronus the Solarian. Solstarni the Academic, Calinthia the Op.

The PC party helps clean up the Eldar Site, and moved all the bodies and graves out into the jungle. Much loot had been buried with the old trespassers. One of the coffins was filled with a Black Block, a techno-ooze invented by the Eoxians as a weapons. The Ysoki Techno flew the ship from the village to the jungle, and skidded into the yard. Flips tried to blast the Block with the ship's maser, but a short-circuit backfired the weapons, After the party finally defeated the vile monstrosity, (later they launched it into the sun) they packed up all their stuff in the ship (Infinite Smoke) and jetted off to Turlahu point. There they sold the tapestry to an Eldar dealer, and they linked up for the last time with the University of Qabarat. Then they took off for Absalom station. They met the Stewards enroute, who took Sniper Salask and some data from the PCs for a minor reward. Doc Solstarni has decided to go on Academic Sabbatical, and has accompanied the PCs on their next quest.

26 SEP 18 - Castrovel WIlderness - Final Destination.

Flips the Op, Theta the Op, Aren the Mystic, Shira the Soldier, Altronus the Solarian. Solstarni the Academic, Calinthia the Op.

They left the technomancer Rost Kresher the Ysoki ; behind to work on the ship, and his robots, and negotiate with the local navy not to shoot them down for flying an Eoxian Thaumtech ship. So the PC party will explore one last plateau of Eldar ancients left on the Ukulam continent. They had pretty much finished every item on the old list of things Dr.Halkeem had gotten wrong way before. So they went upland from Loskialua, and followed spoor that seemed to point to even more ancient Elvish ruins. Doc Solstarni, the female Kasatha professor, was quite excited and thankful to the PCs for helping her explore. After getting rid of another awful Mountain Eel, the party got above the jungle-line, and found the Sweet Mesa, and Phenduin Falls. Eerily, next to the falls was a well-mowed field, like a well-kept plantation yard. Keep in mind Castrovel is a wild tangled jungle world. So to find a place perfectly tended, weeded, and free of beasts made everyone a little tense. Far away at one end of the yard were 8 patches of new grass, 6w x 10ft long. After a while a graceful floating onyx platform-like drone flew in, addressing the party in Elvish. Theta the Ghost-Op masqueraded as Elven, and bluffed their way into the site, which the drone referred to as the Event Site. Flips the Ysoki helped him pull off the enormous lies necessary to get the Elvish drone caretakers to let them into the classified site. Carved into the mesa was an old elvish facility. There were 7 drones, 2 huge, 4 large, and 1 huge one shaped like a cruise missile. The 6 were industrial looking, the last one military. They were protecting the site for later, on a classified mission, for when the stars were right. The looks of the drones, and the graves out front really spooked the most of the PCs. There was a slight disagreement with the professor, who wanted to see the Eldar things she studied for a living, but also she didn't want to trespass anything holy to Elves, or get shot by guardians.

They knew of Panelliar. As the PCs tried to carry on conversations, the drones went on ALERT, since the Eldar gate at the back of the facility had been trespassed by rogues. After a harsh fight, the PCs finally shot down the last Eldar operative. Sadly the lead drone, who had the mind of an Elvish prince imprinted on his soul circuit, basically had to sacrifice himself to off the trashy assassin.

19 OCT 18; Castrovel Wilderness. The party has accomplished several things:

  • Killed off most all of the Devourer cell of the Cult.
  • Figured out what Dr.Halkeem got wrong in most of his Elvish research long ago.
  • Rescued the kidnapped professor from the Cult.

PC PARTY: Paul, Bob; David; Gene. 9 days time. They hacked Pascal's computer, learning data about the cult, his money, and the astronomy/astrology research. They sold research data to the University, crime data to the Stewards and the C.I.A. They tracked down and captured Salask, the cult sniper, who was as far as they knew, the only member of this Devourer cult cell still alive. She had gone towards the "parking place" of the cult's stolen ship, the The Infinite Smoke, an Eoxian transport, as it was hidden in a hillside, invisible to satellites, etc.

The PC party found something that Dr.Halkeem had messed up, which was a buried and hidden ruins of the Eldar city of Loskialua. They sold this info to the University also. They dug out the ship, and got it working, and revamped the computer. Also they contacted Nitiameris the Eldar Ranger about some recovered Eleven art. Also they applied for permission to dust off people with their new ship, using the blessing of Qabarat University to do so.

The PC party finished exploring the tattooed Eldar statue interior. They met a tourist, also on a hovercycle, who joined the group for safety. They trekked overland to find the city devoted to Eldar astrology. They fought off some of the "stingbat" monkeys. The found the temple, where arcane elven traps had left some cultists dead. The PCs have not found and offed the cultist sniper. Some cultists emerged from the temple, and a fight ensued.

The temple is guarded by an undead elf solarian, who had been charmed by the cult leader. The party mystic and technomancer worked out a way to undo the charm to enter the temple safely. The guardian rewarded the solarians, and went off todo some cleansing.

They meet an Eldar scout named Nitiamaris, who was on a personal expedition to harvest rare ingredients for a family enterprise. They left in the morning to cross country towards the elven country named by Halkeem Zan, as Old Oatia. They fought huge yaruks, carnivorous plants, and some thugs with sniper rifles shot at them. They outpace the bad guys, who were on foot.

They explore the ruins of the reclining statue, determining some factoids that escaped the old expedition. More thugs attacked them, but have not given away the position of the kidnapping yet.

The Envoy-Icon and Dwarven-Soldier have left the group to pursue a video career on the holonet, making new episodes of PLODDERS the cops show reboot.

PC party seeks employment, or opportunities to pursue the ugly personnel involved with the Ketephys Knights of Kyonin, an evil organization of haughty Elves who pursue a racist agenda, but its righteous in their own eyes. Their HQ is in the Do Not Cross Zone, but they surely have an office here on Pact Worlds Elven capital, Castrovel.

PC party met up with the new guy, Flips, and had a brew with him in the BLACK HYDRA lounge in the station. Thugs hack the turbovators, and kill a security guard, and were going to proceed to a secret rendezvous or something, but the PCs bravely held them off, shot them up in a group fight. Very late, due to the hacking, station cops show up, and end the fight. Sadly, the PCs were not able to completely loot the bad guys, because it was now a crime scene under LEO control. But they did some "stolen property" returned to them from the thugs.

The PC party answered an advert about aiding elven are expeditions for the Qabarat college on Castrovel, for missions they take into Ukulam jungles. This will generate some cash, maybe connections, and info they need about ancient elven stuff for future undertakings. picture of the shootout scene
