Objective: The object of this course is to introduce and explain the advanced fishing ground formation mechanism and their practice associated with the sustainable development. Among them, the relationship of distribution and abundance for commercial species associate with the marine biological and non-living environmental factors and then the practice in field survey using the marine research vessel to conduct practical exercises on marine structure (especially for climate change) and fishery production were also shared in this course. Then students can engage their knowledge on the capacity associated with the fishing ground management with the sustainable development.
Course Prerequisites: oceanography, biological oceanography
Outline:
The contents of this course is to introduce and explain the advanced fishing ground formation mechanism and their practice associated with the sustainable development. It will be include the biotic and abiotic factors influening the distribution and abundance of marine life. in addition, the climate change impacts on fisheries were also included. Otherwise, the group discussion or paper review were planned for promoting the students capacity of fishing ground mechanism.
Teaching Method:
1. Teaching with projectors, slide projectors, and single-gun projectors as instructional materials.
2. Conducting exercises on marine structure and fishing production practices in conjunction with ocean research vessels.
3. Training students in problem-solving methods and logical thinking skills through topic setting, database research, and the study of related papers.
