Objective: The first half of the course is set to explore and explain the fundamental aspects of virology. The second half focuses on the biology and pathology of important fish and some shellfish viruses.
Course Prerequisites: None
Outline:
1. Principles of virus particles and genome
2. Principles of viral replication and gene expression
3. Principles of viral pathogenesis
4. Fish viruses
5. Shellfish viruses
Teaching Method:
1. Lectures in English will be given in the classroom.
2. At the end of each lecture, a discussion will be held to discuss the assigned reading or the lecture material from previous week.
3. Students will give oral presentation in the second half of the course.

Evaluation:
Mid-term exam: 40%, take-home exam
Oral presentation: 60%, students will give oral presentation in the second half of the course.
