Course Description and Goals:
1. Learning electronics database of scientific reports
2. Learning operation system, basic operation command and introduction of computer applications
3. Computers graphics, analysis, geoscience materials, and their exhibition results
4. Learning computer softwares
Schedule Type:
1. Task-oriented - use earth science data to discuss the application and display of related topics.
2. Practice orientation - The course is taught by the teacher''s demonstration and guides students in practical application and operation.
3. Through the students'' discussion and experience sharing, the final demonstration and report will be given.
Course Schedule (subject to change):
Week 1-Searching science reports from electronics databases
Week 2-Operating System (Linux, Windows) and introduction to computer applications Weeks 3-4 - Introduction to Matlab and other scientific graphing applications
Weeks 5-9 - Data processing and mapping implementation (archives process, 2D map, contour map, vector map , statistical figures, 3D figures and animation production, etc.) Weeks 10-15 - Data analysis implementation (linear algebra, basic time series analysis) Weeks 16-17 - Final report
