Course Description and Goals:

We will introduce the definition and ecology of microbes, the existence of marine microorganisms in life and the role-played on the environments and the related application of microorganisms. Core learning outcomes:

1. The students should be conversant with basic marine microbial ecology and the related knowledge.

 2. The students should be able to use basic knowledge of microbial ecology for further scientific reports reading and writing.

In this course, I will introduce 1. Diversity and ecology of marine microorganisms; 2. Marine microbes’ cultivation and functional exploration; 3. Marine microbes’ identification; 4. The discussion of marine microorganisms related publications.
