Course Description and Goals:

1. To provide students with important concepts of international trade 

2. To analyze world fisheries situation and world market structure 

3. To learn the procedures and basic practices of international trade 

4. Improvement of English proficiency through whole English teaching 

Schedule Type:  

The teaching method will base on my self-compiled materials, explain and analyze with power point, also supple with the related videos of production and trade of important fishery countries and products, so as to increase students'' interest, knowledge and experience. Designate students to read the assigned papers on important topics, and to discuss in the class. 

Course Schedule (subject to change):

The teaching schedule is roughly as follows, but the actual progress will be adjusted as necessary. 

Week 1-4: Economic theory and research methods of international trade. The contents include: comparative productivity theory, economic theory of market supply and demand, and the significance and key elements of successful export trade. 

Week 5-9: Analysis of world market of fishery products The content includes: Overview of Taiwan''s fishery trade, world fishery production and consumption, processing and utilization, international trade, analysis of important fishery exporting countries: China, Vietnam, Norway, analysis of important fishery importing countries: Europe, the United States, Japan, China, Important fishery product trade and fishery product prices, introduction to international fishery product trading companies. 

Week 10-12: Literature reading and reports on fishery product trade market research. Week 13-18: Procedures and Important Practices of international trade.
