Course ID: M33013AF
Credits: 3
Course Prerequisites: Biology
Course Description and Goals:
Physiology is the study of the scientific methods to determine how biological units and systems carry out the chemical or physical functions that they have in a living system. This course will provide students with an introduction to the environmental physiology, especially in aquatic animals. During the first half of the semester, students will be introduced to different physiological systems in lecture sessions. During the second half of the semester, selected topics on the correlations between environmental factors and physiological responses will be focus. Each week, we will read and discuss one or several related literatures together.
1. Concepts of comparative physiology
2. Introduction to physiology researches
3. Physiology systems and environmental stimuli
4. Discussion on evolutionary and environmental physiology
