The Story of The 3 Little Pigs
We started the topic by drawing our very own storymaps
Mena sequenced the story pictures of the 3 Little Pigs first and then used the pictures to help with her drawings.
The 3 Little Pigs asked us to help them. We drew 'Wanted' posters describing the wolf and posted them around the school. We wanted to warn all the children in our school to beware of a big bad wolf that might be hiding in our nature area!
We drew a map of our nature area where we had found the house of straw and the house of sticks. No sign of the house of bricks yet!
The Little Red Hen
We sequenced the story of the Little Red Hen to be able to re-tell it to our friends.
We learnt about the Life cycle of the Hen.
Goldilocks & The 3 Bears
We drew the 3 bears according to their size!
Daddy bear, Mammy bear and Baby bear.
We wrote about our favourite toppings
Aviana-Mai's favourite was blueberries.
We also learnt about estimation. We estimated how many scoops of porridge would fill Baby Bear's bowl. It didnt matter if we were wrong, it was only an estimate!
We also learned about capacity - full, half full and empty. We colouored Baby Bear's bowl according to it's capacity!
Ellis and Fletcher enjoyed experimenting with the porridge to fill Baby Bear's bowl up and then emptying the porridge out!
