October Meeting – we have to be out of the police station

The October meeting will be a giant giveaway. The church is going to start remodeling the east end of the building to make a meeting room and we have to have all of the stuff we had stored out so the work can start.

We have sold most of the items we had stored but some things remain. They are free if you want them. Whatever is left will go into the dumpster after the meeting.

We will let MARA dues current members in at 6 pm; All others at 6:30 pm. We will have hot dogs, cokes and chips. If you take something the food is free; if not then it is a $1 for all you want.

Watch your vehicles!!! If you leave them open or unlocked don’t be surprised if you find a present when you leave.

Directions: Go north on Wells Station – north of Macon. Leroy goes off to left by Wells’s Station Elementary School. Leroy is one block south of Jerry’s Sno-cones. Facing church, look for large vehicle door on far left.

Software

The current plan is to have the software at the October meeting. We will have a table set up so you can pick it up. I am checking with Randy to see if he has any extra copies. Sometimes we end up with a few extra copies.

Officers for 2017

We need some folks to step up and be officers for 2017. I have been secretary for at least the last 5 years and won’t do it again. I will help whoever steps up and take care of the web page. If you are willing please let Dennis Foster know or drop me an email quickly.

FreeFest Coordinator

I am stepping down as FreeFest coordinator after the 2017 FreeFest. I would like to have someone shadow me this year and learn how it works. As it is now, it is not a difficult job. I hate to use the term “autopilot” but it is close. I started the concept and have run every FreeFest but one since 2006. During this time we have had a pretty good hamfest and have raised more than $25,000 for LeBonheur and some for St. Jude in the early years. I am certain that someone with “fresh eyes” can make some improvements. Contact me if you’re interested. The MARA board will have to approve any changes.
