MARA Minutes from November 7, 2013 Meeting

Meeting was held at the Pool Clubhouse at 2417 Lacosta Dr. in Bartlett as Police Precinct was used for a meeting by Police. Meeting started at 7:05 pm

Had 25 present including all board members.

Foster mentioned Christmas party at Coletta’s for Thursday December 5. Reminded all to bring gifts.

Time is 6:30 pm, order off menu.

Reminded everyone about St. Jude Marathon on Dec 7.

David Saks offered to have it discussed on his show Saturday before

Asked all to pay 2014 dues. Clarified that partial year dues were for new folks only. Existing members were responsible for total amount even if they paid late in year.

Foster had Brignole talk about repeater inventory and upcoming strategy meeting. Brignole briefly reviewed status and made case for additional 440 MHz duplexer. Discussion and explanation about need for new duplexer. Proposed duplexer was TX/RX professional unit. With ham discount it would cost less than $800 with estimated $30 shipping.

Foster called for new business

Saks mentioned he had 3 console pianos in good condition he would like to trade for ham gear.

Parish mentioned he had patches. Members get one free. Additional ones are $4 each.

Discussion followed that we would like to find someone to pay for all the members and spouses at the Christmas Dinner at Coletta’s this year. We decided that best way to handle this was have whoever made the motion to accept the November minutes at the December meeting pick up the check. All agreed.

Program by Brignole with help from Rubin about the HF Fox Delta Antenna Analyzer. Demonstrated how it works with software projected on screen. Lots of interaction and questions.

After meeting had drawing for 3 door prizes. Richard Martin, Joe Lowenthal and one other [????] won prizes.
