Minutes from 5-4-2017 Meeting

Met at Police Precinct, 28 Present!

Called to order at 7:00 pm by President Dennis Foster.

Welcome and Introductions, Around the room.

Program

Maureen O’Connor, VP of Institutional Advancement, from LeBonheur Children’s Hospital,

thanked us for raising over $33,000 over the last 8 years. She brought a handout with pictures

of our plaque for the Mid-South Amateur Radio Association that is now on the wall

with groups that have given over $25,000. We presented a check and Methodist Hospital

has matched the money raised for an Endowment Fund for LeBonheur. Much is happening

at the hospital with expanding the physical building and other new clinics in Jackson, TN,

Tupelo, MS, Center at Christian Brothers, and expanding to 75 suites at the Fed Ex House.

Maureen O’Connor also passed out LeBonheur pins and LeBonheur Heart decals to all.

Old /New Business /Announcement

*Need 20 radio operators on June 17, 2017 for Diabetes Bike Ride.

*Art Barnett reported we made enough money on concessions to pay all the expenses

for FreeFest.

*Discussion/ Voted to attend Field Day on June 24 and 25 in Germantown at

at the Pickering Building at 7771 Poplar Pike. Planning meeting is May 23 at

the Neshoba Firestation #4 on Forest Hill Irene 6:30pm. Call sign for Field Day will be W4E.
