This month the meeting will be at the pool club house at Country Club Estates. Park in the rear of 2417 Lacosta and walk down to the pool screened porch. We will have Cokes, Firehouse sandwiches, and chips to munch on at the meeting.

Meeting Program

This month we will demonstrate and discuss the overvoltage protection devices. These boxes are set to disconnect the line voltage from the load if the voltage goes over 130V. The disconnect voltage can easily be adjusted up or down for special circumstances. These were originally intended for generators but could be used with normal house wiring to protect sensitive equipment like refrigerators etc. The unit plugs into a standard electrical socket and the device being protected plugs into it.

The cost for these units is $40 to club members and $45 for non-members. The actual cost of these units is $48 so the club is subsidizing the cost for each one. We have a few extra units if any of you would like one. These are available on a first come, first serve basis.

These units are completely assembled and tested. This turned out to be a significantly more complex and expensive project than first thought and we could not figure out a way to assemble these at a regular meeting so Roger, Dennis, and I went ahead and assembled, calibrated, and tested them for those that ordered them. All you have to do is screw the cover on the box.

If you signed up for one of the units please bring your payment to the meeting. We had 11 people sign up on the original list and their names are listed below. I had a couple folks tell me later that they would like a box but I have misplaced the paper I put their names on so if you are not listed below please quickly drop me a note. We also made up a couple extra units if you would like one. These are available on a first come – first served basis.
