Next meeting

Thursday March 6, 7:00 pm

This month’s meeting will be at the Police Precinct at 6850 Appling Farms Parkway. A map is on the web site at maraonline.org.

Meeting Topic

This month’s program will be “Test Your Radio” . Bring your HT or mobile rig and we will have test equipment set up to test for frequency, power out, deviation, PL tone, and general sensitivity. Ray Ware has loaned us his Wavetek 3000B to perform these simple tests. We will have a 20 amp power supply with alligator clips on the end to test mobile units. You will need to bring an adapter to get power from the supply to the rear of your mobile radio. HTs just need a fully charged battery as no external power is needed. Also an antenna adapter if you have anything other than an N or UHF female, BNC or SMA female. We are limited to 50 to 900 MHz and 100 watts power output and it is not practical to test HF rigs in the time allowed.

FreeFest Tickets

We hope to have the FreeFest prize tickets ready for the meeting. They are at the printer now being printed and perforated. We will be prepared to sign them out at the meeting. Please take some and sell them to your friends. Remember that all proceeds go to LeBonheur. The club is paying for the cost (~$200) of printing the tickets as part of our donation.

The final list of main prizes is:

Software Order for 2014

The software order is finally ready. The form is attached to the news letter and more will be available at the meeting. These must be turned in by the April meeting so we can get the order out in early April. Payment must be included with the order form. Make checks payable to MARA and note on the bottom that it is for software to help Rick keep it straight. You must be a current member with dues paid up to order software.
