MARA Minutes for June 5, meeting and Field Day 2014
Gone to Mexico for Field Day – Minutes by John Parish.
Meeting started 7 pm by Foster
22 members present. Introductions.
Motion made to accept May minutes, accepted by acclamation
Kanschat gave treasurer report and motion made to accept, accepted by acclamation.
Foster called for announcements, no announcements
Foster reported that 147.03 antenna was checked and found good and we would install later.
Software is in and will be distributed at break.
Foster reported that the club is purchasing 2 new Kenwood VHF repeaters similar to our UHF repeaters.
Reported following about Field Day.
Clubhouse 2417 Lacosta Dr.
Snacks all day
Testing at 10 am
Lunch sandwiches and hot dogs
Evening meal at 7 pm will be Catered BBQ probably Leonard’s
Sunday Breakfast will be Sausage and Biscuits and rolls etc
Mentioned garage sale at St. James Church for June 21st from 9a to 1 p.

Foster showed photos of Dayton this year with comments
Rubin presented his reflections on Dayton and mentioned many forums there; HRD, Drake, Contesting, DX, Contest University, Digital. Also mentioned VOA museum and the Flex Radio Banquet.
Janet Souza [Ron’s wife] spoke about the YL side of Dayton and the programs to help folks get licensed the same day. Janet [KV4ZM] took her General and passed at Dayton this year.
Program ended with prize drawings for 3 prizes.

Field Day - June 27, 2014 – No Formal Meeting
We set up and operated from Clubhouse 2417 Lacosta.
MARA, Delta, and Tri-State participated; 110 folks signed in.
Money share for each club was $230. Had Leonard’s BBQ for Saturday night and Fire House subs for Saturday Lunch.
Rained and stormed all weekend. Tremendous rain and lightning kept operating time to minimum
