November Meeting – we have to be out of the police station

Again we have to be out of the Police Station because of training. We will be meeting at the main Country Club Estates Clubhouse at 2417 Lacosta.

We will have pizza and cokes along with our program.

November is our election month and President Dennis Foster is getting the ticket lined up. It is like herding cats so he may not have everything firmed up till meeting night.

One thing I am sure of is that I won’t be running again. We need someone to step up and be our secretary. I will help but have a lot going on and it is critical that I significantly reduce work load. Our news letter is short and I can handle the web page if a new person is not comfortable with doing it. Please consider helping out.

Roger Schlichter will talk on the St. Jude Marathon. He will talk about how it is organized and set up from the inside. Roger still needs a few more folks to help so “get the lead out” and volunteer.

Software

We had the software at the October meeting and many of you picked it up. I will bring it to the November meeting so those that if you haven’t picked it up can collect it.

FreeFest Coordinator

I am stepping down as FreeFest coordinator after the 2017 FreeFest. I would like to have someone shadow me this year and learn how it works. As it is now, it is not a difficult job. I hate to use the term “autopilot” but it is close. I started the concept and have run every FreeFest but one since 2006. During this time we have had a pretty good hamfest and have raised more than $25,000 for LeBonheur and some for St. Jude in the early years. I am certain that someone with “fresh eyes” can make some improvements. Contact me if you’re interested. The MARA board will have to approve any changes.

Vote

Election day is Tuesday November 8. Go vote. Remember; no vote - no bitch! This is an unusual election. We have two of the sorriest, no good bastards, on the face of the earth running for president. I have had personal “non political” dealings with both and both lack any kind of moral compass and are unfit to be president. This situation came about because the vast majority of the electorate lacked the mental acuity to understand the complex issues and went for an easy fix. Well be advised, you got what you wanted.
