Mid-South Amateur Radio Association – Club Meeting Minutes December 8, 2011

Location: Coletta's Restaurant, 2850 Appling Road, Memphis, TN 38133

Attendance: President Tony Brignole (WA4KHN), Vice-President Del Earnheart (AJ4EM), Secretary Linda Ware (KJ4ELL), Treasurer John Parish (KD4EUZ). Membership attendance approx. 50.

Welcome: 6:45 p.m. by Tony; opening prayer by Ray Ware (KJ4DUE)

Dispensed with reading of the minutes from previous (November) club meeting and Treasurer’s report until the first club meeting in January 2012.

Meeting will be held at the regular location: Northeast Police Precinct (Appling Farms Station) 6850 Whitten Bend Cove, Memphis, TN 38133 on the first Thursday, January 5, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

The budget will be the first subject, as well as FreeFest, and ideas for good quality programs of interest to the membership throughout the year.

The donated Motorola Astro-Tac VHF receiver has been sold on eBay. Proceeds from the sale will be turned over to the club as soon as the transaction is finalized.

Tony will be making the trip to Jackson, MS Hamfest (January 25th) and to Dayton 2012 Hamvention (May 18-20). If anyone is interested in riding along, make plans now.

Thanks to Tony Brignole, Del Earnheart, and all the 2011 officers and Board members for providing the leadership and their time and service to the club.

FREEFEST will be donating to LeBonheur again this year. Will need some quality prizes to promote ticket sales. FREEFEST is Saturday April 14, 2012, at the same location:

The annual Christmas party was, again this year, a fun and successful get-together with great fellowship, decorations, lots of Christmas spirit, conversation, food and gifts for everyone.

Tony officially turned the meeting over to the new club president, Dennis Foster (KJ4BDU).
