This pages looks at some best practices in conservation and rewilding.
Generally the best thing you can do is use BMPs designed specifically for your region, with local biodiversity in mind as well as geographic, cultural, and legal issues in mind. However, if you can't find local guidelines with your local conservation organizations, universities or other scientifically informed sources, then you may be able to glean information from the BMPs of other regions, to help create a locally-relevant BMP for future use in your area.
You should try to use BMPs specific to your region, but in case you can't find any locally, this section is intended to help you get started. Always be careful about species and practices used.

BMPs are scientifically-informed guidelines for taking care of various landscapes. BMPs from one terrain or country to another may be different, so this section includes some examples of BMPs from around the world and for specific biomes or locations. Use the ones that apply to your conservations area of choice, or if none of them apply to your area, try to find some specific to your region.
If you can't find any specific to your region, the BMPs here may help you get started on creating appropriate BMPs for where you intend to use them. For example the same techniques and monitoring practices may be fairly universal, but specific species listed for planting, conservation, or removal can be vastly different depending on where you are in the world.

Houston Parks Board: Conservation uses several BMPs for the variety of ecosystems they preserve. "Our habitat BMPs are designed to establish a standard and provide a consistent approach for our staff and other groups who may wish to use and adopt them. This document serves as a land management guide, offering an initial toolbox for restoration efforts. The BMPs are broad recommendations and should be viewed as the starting point for restoration projects. As a living document, this BMP will be updated over time as the Houston Parks Board gains insights through ongoing implementation and management."
