Samantha's Creamy Bacon Seafood Chowder, BY JELES

Ingredients:

6-8 slices bacon chopped

1 small onion (chopped)

1 medium turnip cut into ½-inch cubes

2 tsp minced garlic

2 1/2 cups chicken broth

1 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream

1/4 cup of Sour cream

1/2 cup of Sharp Cheddar Cheese

2-3 dashes of hot sauce

1 pound shrimp peeled and deveined, tails on or off

12 oz can of chopped clams

1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning

Salt and pepper

Chopped Parsley and Rosemary for garnish

Instructions:

For this recipe I use my Dutch oven, but you can use a large pot

Over medium heat, cook the bacon until crisp

Once crispy remove and place on a paper towel, set aside

Leave the bacon fat in the pan

Add the turnip and onion to the pan and sauté, about 5 minutes

Stir in the garlic for 2 minutes

Pour in the chicken broth and let simmer, for about 10 minutes

Stir in the cream, sour cream, sharp cheddar, clams, shrimp and simmer until the shrimp is pink, another 5 minutes or so

Add the Cajun seasoning, 2-3 dashes of hot sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste

Garnish each bowl with the bacon, chopped parsley and rosemary

Enjoy!
