Lori's Lasagna Stuffed Peppers, BY JELES

Ingredients:

4 large bell peppers (green, red, yellow or orange)

1 tsp olive oil

2 tsp Garlic minced

1 1/2 tsp of Mrs Dash Herb (salt free) (1/2 tsp set aside)

1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt & Pepper to taste

3 Hot Italian Sausages

1 pound lean ground beef

1 cup Jeles keto tomato sauce or (use your favorite sauce)

1 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

1 cup whole milk ricotta cheese

1/4 cup sour cream

1 Large egg

1/4 cup Parmesan cheese

Fresh Parsley to dressing

Instructions:

Preheat oven to 350*

Place rack to middle position

Halve the peppers lengthwise and remove the seeds and white pith with a spoon

Place in a 9×13 inch baking dish (set aside)

DIRECTIONS:

In a medium bowl add ricotta cheese, sour cream and egg and a dash of salt and pepper and 1/2 tsp of Mrs Dash (herb-no salt)

Mix well and add 2 tablespoons of fresh parmesan and 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella and mix well (set aside)

NEXT STEP:

In a Skillet or a pan add the olive oil over medium heat

Add the ground beef and hot sausage links to the pan, add garlic, Italian seasoning, Mrs Dash Herb, salt and pepper

Stirring and breaking it up into small pieces until cooked through

Stir in the tomato sauce and cook until thickened

Cool and mix in 1/2 cup of the mozzarella cheese

Spoon the meat sauce into the peppers, filling half way

*NOTE:

Spoon in 1 1/2 tbsp ricotta cheese MIXTURE into each pepper followed with the remaining meat sauce

I love to layer each pepper... Use your imagination and ENJOY

Cover the peppers with foil tightly (let sit for 20 minutes before baking)

Oven: 350*

Bake covered for 30 minutes

Then, remove the foil and top with remaining ricotta mixture and finish off with the remaining mozzarella cheese

Bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes

Place under broiler for browning (2 minutes)

**Keeping an eye on it so it doesn't burn**

Top with the remaining Parmesan cheese and sprinkle fresh parsley on top
