Here is the STORY behind this recipe:

When my mommy opened Maria's Bakery & Coffee Shop here in CT way back when, our Bakery was across the street from the Firehouse... I swear they could smell them in the oven. lol and would always walk over and knock on the window (usually 3-4 am) and wave at my mommy and I. ( yes, mommy would always wake me up to go with her to bake) (yes, even on school days) Now because the Firemen always did this...I wanted to name them after "THEM" and so we did.

Decades later I opened Sweet Maria's Bistro, Bakery & Catering in NC I began to make them for my customers and kept the name the same to show my gratitude for all their sacrifice... Respect to all the Firemen out there...

SO, introducing Sweet Maria’s Firemen Twists... (they were called Firemen’s Danish) Now that their KETO I changed the last part of the name.

Also, as you can see different ones in the picture... Same recipe but I made them shaped differently. This is why I say use your imagination with my recipes. I DO!
