ERROR ON STARTING REVIT
If you get an error when starting Revit it is probably because Windows has 'Blocked' the Add-in.
This may occur if the file (or zip file the file was in) was downloaded from the internet.
You simply need to “Unblock” the DLL by right-clicking on it in Explorer and selecting “Properties” and “Unblock”.
It’s actually better to do this for the .ZIP prior to extracting the contents, as this makes sure all files contained in the archive are unblocked.
For example, if you were to do this for the QRCodes for AutoCAD plugin:
INSTALLATION FOLDERS
Addins are installed in:
C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit 2015\AddIns (internal addins, usually don't need to disable)
and
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\Revit\Addins
and
%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Autodesk\ApplicationPlugins
and
%APPDATA%\Autodesk\Revit\Addins\2015
DISABLE ADDINS
If you want to test Revit with all add-ins disabled [or selectively disable add-ins] follow the steps below:
1. Close Revit.
2. Locate each folder where Addins are installed (see above):
3. Temporarily move the add-in files from the folder above to another location.
4. Launch Revit; add-ins will be disabled.
