Using Keyboard shortcuts can improve your productivity. The standard out-of-the-box shortcuts are not always the most convenient to find on a keyboard.
CUSTOMIZED SHORTCUTS
Ideally shortcuts should have letters close together on the keyboard.
There is a tweaked shortcut file that adds additional shortcuts to the standard ones.
Click on the purple R icon (Application Menu) on top left corner, from Options>User Interface tab, Keyboard Shortcuts Customize... button.
Import... button, browse to:
S:\Revit Settings\Keyboard Shortcuts\
List of Keyboard commands in this file (sorted by shortcut):
Once you have imported it you can make your own changes and export it as your own keyboard shortcuts file.
Make sure you give your export file a different name.
PRINT A LIST OF YOUR SHORTCUTS
You can view your customized Keyboard Shortcuts List in an Excel worksheet.
First export your Keyboard shortcuts:
Option 1
Click on the purple R icon (Application Menu) on top left corner, Click 'Options', 'User Interface' tab, Keyboard Shortcuts : customize button
Option 2:
'View' tab on Ribbon, 'Windows’ Panel, 'User Interface' tool (last one), choose 'Keyboard Shortcuts’ from drop down menu list.
In the Keyboard shortcuts dialog box select the 'Export...' button and save the file where you can find it.
Now open a blank Excel spreadsheet, 'Data' tab on Ribbon, 'Get External Data' Panel, 'From other sources' tool, select ‘from xml Data Import’ option from menu.
Choose the file you exported.
The excel file will have a header row that allows you to sort by columns.
Multiple shortcuts are separated by a hash (#) symbol.
You could edit this file and reload it back into Revit (using the Import.. button in the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog box), but I don’t recommend it.
Any syntax error will probably corrupt the file and possibly all your shortcuts.
