3D VIEW SNAPSHOT CREATION

CREATE 3D VIEWS AROUND A CALL-OUT

This assumes a call-out has already been created.

• 1. Create a new 3D view,

  2. press F8 to make the navigation wheel visible,

  3. select the little arrow in the bottom right of the wheel, and then select orient to view.

This will give you a list of views, select the call out and the view will crop automatically to the callouts extent and view depth properties.

CREATE 3D VIEW AROUND SELECTED OBJECT - USING ADD-IN

COINS Auto-Section Box add-in available for free on Autodesk Exchange.

Install the add-in, restart Revit, select a few objects then click the button.

It will create a section box around those objects in the selected 3D view.

How it works:

• 1. Select an object or objects.

  2. Start the command.

  3. Decide whether to create a new view or change an existing view.

  4. Set a margin (try 1000).

  5. Find the view and open it. (new views are called 3D View 1, 3D View 2 etc…)
