VERSION: 2011
PROBLEM:
In a schedule that includes Room parameters, some family objects (Casework, Furniture etc.) have no values for the room parameters.
CAUSE 1:
The family is not in a room.
Possible reasons:
Walls have been moved leaving the object outside of a room.
The Room has been deleted.
The Room is not filling the space correctly:
-because the extents of a wall that has had its profile edited impacts on the room,
-a wall from a level above or below impacts on the room,
-a dwarf wall or low partition in the space impacts on the room.
SOLUTION 1:
Check that the objects is actually in a room.
Check the room fills the space:
-turn off the Room Bounding parameter of walls, columns, floors etc. that are impacting on the room.
CAUSE 2:
The family's height is more than Room's Unbounded Height x 2 + 304
Schedules will NOT show Room parameters when:
Room Bounding Height is 2000mm, than any families higher than 4304mm
Room Bounding Height is 3000mm, than any families higher than 6304mm
Room Bounding Height is 4000mm, than any families higher than 8304mm
Room Bounding Height is 2438mm, than any families higher than 5108mm
The last in the above list is the default height when a room is first put in.
SOLUTION 2:
Change the Unbounded Height of affected rooms so it reflects actual height of the space.
Do this by either changing the Limit Offset if the Upper Limit level is the same as the Level parameter, or change the Upper Limit to another level.
CAUSE 3:
An in-place family has been built up against the edge of a room, where that edge is a complex shape.
e.g. a bench against a convex wall.
SOLUTION 3:
Edit the in-place family.
Add a line on the <invisible> subcategory from objects in the family to somewhere further into the room.
If it still does show up, make the line longer or move it to a new position.
