CREATE TOPOSURFACE FROM SKETCHUP

This method creates a toposurface and image of a site from Google Earth.

IN SKETCHUP PRO

Add Location

do search for site location

select Region button

draw mask around area you want to use.

Grab button

Toggle Terrain

toggle to flat terrain version

select (unpin) and delete flat version

File

Export 3D model as DWG file.

Use Eye dropper tool to select the terrain

Edit tab (in eye dropper dialog)

Edit image in external editor (button in dialog box)

open in Photoshop or Gimp

Export image.

IN REVIT

Import CAD file made from Sketchup.

Create Toposurface by selecting CAD file.

Import image file made from Sketchup.

Place over toposurface, stretch to fit.
