REVIT OPTION SETTINGS

Like all software Revit has a place where preferences and options can be set.

The Options command can be found in the application menu under the purple R on screen top left.

FILE LOCATIONS tab

This tab sets where Revit will look for stuff, and default location for saving stuff.

It is important ALL paths are set correctly.

Default template file (e.g. for revit 2014):

... \Templates\Project\Project Template 2014.rte

Default path for user files:

C:\!revitLOCAL

Default path for family template files:

...\Templates\Family

Root path for point clouds (Revit 2012):

C:\!revitLOCAL

Places... button:

Library ...\Templates\Libraries

(delete all other libraries).

Revit 2014:

GENERAL tab

Username:

Set the username to your Windows Log-on name (should be this be default).
