You can restrict whether particular Grids and Levels are visible in a view by associating individual grids and levels to the Scope Box the view is associated with.
Refer to SCOPE BOX USES for more information on setting up and using Scope Boxes.
More information on Scope Boxes can be found on Revit 2011 Help:
control visibility of Grids & Levels
CLIPPING GRIDS
Each Grid to be clipped by a particular Scope Box must be associated to that Scope Box.
Change the parameter called Scope Box to match the name of the Scope Box that will do the clipping.
You can select multiple Grids when changing their Scope Box parameter.
CLIPPING LEVELS
To clip levels you need to go to an elevation or section view.
But you may not see newly created scope boxes in elevations or sections because they are invisible in those views by default.
To make a scope box visible select it (in a view where it is visible), in the properties window hit the Edit... button opposite Views Visible.
A dialog box displays where you can Override the scope box's visibility in particular views.
The base and top of a Scope Box can be stretched in 3D views or elevations and sections where it is visible.
Each Level to be clipped by a particular Scope Box must be associated to that Scope Box.
Change the parameter called Scope Box to match the name of the Scope Box that will do the clipping.
You can select multiple Levels when changing their Scope Box parameter.
